âTe Maeva Nuiâ is a major festival to promote local culture and gain attraction for people of New Zealandâs Cook Island community. Last yearâs Te Maeva Nui was the biggest of all time, spanning three consecutive days and even attended by the Prime Minister of New Zealand at the time, Chris Hipkins.

Ricky Lo, who has been a customer of our wireless video systems for many years, was in charge of the live streaming for this significant event. His CineEye and CineView devices have been integral to his production toolkit, helping him navigate these challenges with ease. Ricky shared his insights on using our products for live streaming:
âOur team continues to rely on Accsoon wireless transmission,â said Ricky Lo. The ability to mount multiple systems on set and group them for efficient MultiCam setups was a game-changer. He mentioned that since the introduction of CineEye Gen 2 four years ago, the feature to dial in a specific group for faster automatic grouping with MultiCam setups has significantly improved the workflow.
And he was kind enough to share us his experience on streaming production with our trusty old CineEye and our latest CineView models.
Challenges in Streaming Te Maeva Nui
1.Large Coverage Area: The festival spans multiple locations, requiring a robust wireless solution to cover the entire area without signal drops. As the festival goes on, the live stream and events get more complicated, involving a mixture of scene indoors and outdoors.
With CineEye and CineViewâs Excellent stability and range, Ricky and his team were able to cover all the major performances and spotlights of the show with MultiCam set ups both indoors and outdoors. And it worked perfectly well, allowing Ricky and his team to conveniently control the stream production in their own video village.
2.High-Quality Transmission: With numerous performances, detailed costumes and close-up shots, maintaining high-definition video and clear audio is crucial for an immersive viewer experience.
CineView and CineEye has more than enough image quality for event streaming. They both support up to 1080p 60fps transmission and image quality settings that can be adjusted to meet the needs of the user. Even with the lowest bitrate option SPEED, youâre still getting average 4-6mbps bitrate thatâs enough for internet streaming.
3.Real-Time Monitoring: Coordinating a live event requires real-time monitoring across various devices to ensure everything runs smoothly. And most importantly, low latency with consistency across all devices. Which is exactly what we offer with our wireless video systems. CineView and CineEye all have 0.06s to 0.05s of minimum latency and consistent performance in production. As Ricky and his team all pair cameras with our transmission system, thereâs no latency issues across different camera angles, setups and scenes.
4. Interference Management: With so many wireless signals in use, avoiding interference is a significant concern. Multicam is key in big streaming. And with wireless system the worst thing that could happen on set with Multicam production is chaotic RF frequency managing and terrible performance with irregular dropout. But not for our systems, with intelligent frequency allocation and auto pairing, by booting up TXs one by one, theyâll all scan the WiFi interference strength across all available RF ranges and choose the cleanest band. And in demanding RF environments you can set the bands yourself one by one, and allocated enough bands for other devices on set or avoid certain bands with heavy interference. Bundled with our patented Dual-Band Technology, Tx and Rx are sending out and receiving video data in both 2.4 and 5GHz, maintaining clear streaming even tho one band is heavily interfered. Dual Band heavily increased the robustness and stability of our transmission and ensures smooth streaming across wide spectrum of use cases and environments.
